Bronx Community Solutions' clinic staff members, Giuliana Ruiz-Moreno and Shlomit Levy, were recently asked to present at the Know your Rights Immigration Session event sponsored by the New Americans Welcome Center of the YMCA of Greater New York and co-hosted by the office of New York City Council Member Annabel Palma.  The event, held at the Castle Hill YMCA in the Bronx, featured attorneys from Bronx ImmigrationPartnership, NY Defender Services, and Human Rights First and featured additional support services from ID NYC and the Violence Intervention Program (VIP).  The event was attended by adults and families who were seeking assistance in understanding and solidifying their immigration status in light of the recently publicized ICE raids.

Bronx Community Solutions (BCS) discussed the advocacy we provide on behalf of clients to the court in terms of their immigration status and referrals we can make for legal services, obtaining medical assistance and access to emergency services.  BCS also provided attendees with information from our trusted community providers.  Resources presented included: Legal Aid Society's free immigration clinics, 'Know Your Rights' flyers from MFY Legal Services, the Immigration Defense Project's 24-hour helpline.  The participants were very receptive to all the information presented and BCS was very pleased to present on our services and how we can assist with immigration rights.
